“We fell in love with Floyd’s culture, quality of life, natural beauty and clean air and water.”
In Love with Mabry Creek Cottage and Barn
Jenn Scully and Greg Smith bought the Mabry Creek Cottage and Barn as a welcome respite from their busy lives in New York. They realized the property offered a unique slice of nature and history. The historic barn in the backyard especially piqued their interest.

“The beauty of the 1820s Mabry barn was, and still is, a huge draw for us.”
Both Jenn and Greg brought their individual talents to the table to transform the cottage into a luxury getaway. Working professionally as an interior designer with an environmentally-friendly focus, Jenn conceived the recent interior renovations and personally oversaw the updates to every room in the cottage.
Coming from the high-tech industry, Greg made sure the house was Wi-Fi enabled with the highest bandwidth available in this rural region, installed a flat-screen HD smart TV for viewing streaming services from the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime and implemented professionally-monitored smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the house to enable a safe environment for guests.
When visiting their mountain retreat, Jenn and Greg especially enjoy looking up at the stars that shine extra bright in the clear sky. The unique music, arts and natural wonders of the Floyd area also fascinate them.
They find the wine and atmosphere at Chateau Morrisette Winery exceptional, the chocolate truffles at Cocoa Mia divine, and the food at Mickey G’s Bistro and Pizzeria authentically Italian.
Jenn and Greg invite you to breathe in the fresh mountain air, drink the pure spring water and take a peaceful step back in time during your stay at their unique piece of Blue Ridge heaven.
